About the Author
Linda Weaver Clarke received her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Southern Utah University and writes articles for the American Chronicle. She has traveled throughout the United States, teaching a "Family Legacy Workshop," encouraging others to turn their family history and autobiography into a variety of interesting stories.

should parents understand the meaning of young love?
its the fact that there are so many teenagers out there who have what you call love but parents force them to not go forth because they feel that young people cant fall in love or be in love....what do you think?
I don't think love is something you can finally understand once you reach a certain age. Sure, you can become attracted to someone once you reach puberty and what you feel might be "love" to you then, but at that age it seems like we want to try and rush it and I don't think love is something you can rush. Parents are simply speaking from experience when they talk about "young love", because they went through a lot of that too and know a little about where you're coming from. That's not to say you can't find love at a young age, it's just that it's hard to tell then and you have to be careful.

If love was something tangible, every body would be running to get the biggest share of pure and untainted love. Luckily it is not a substance that you can acquire. It is either there between two people or not there. You cannot force love neither can you wish it away. You cannot buy it with money and nobody was born with it. At this period the heart is very vulnerable and sensitive to even little things. It is the simplest things that hurt and so one ought to be careful. Do not fight love because you do not choose who to love.
