Bloons Towers Defense

The 1st in a series of 3 Bloons tower defense games created by Ninjakiwi has a minimal variety of defense towers and only 1 level in which to play the game through. This already demonstrates that the game is short lived and isn't anywhere up to the game originality provided by the first ever Bloons game.

The general idea of the game is to pop all the balloons that float around the given path using a collection of defense towers that you can deploy. Each round gets harder because more balloons float past, some of which are harder to pop and also move faster. Every time you pop a balloon you receive points in which to use to buy more towers and upgrades.

The dart tower is the first of the 5 defense mechanisms and is simply a giant monkey that fires a single dart at the oncoming balloons, being a no thrills tower it provides little visual appeal or excitement and is rather ineffective at popping balloons without the upgrade of piercing darts and long range radius. You can obtain both upgrades straight away, before the game starts.

The tack tower is the second defense weapon in line, it spits out 8 tacks at a time, but you won't find it popping 8 balloons in a row, there is no strategic point on the circuit in which to place it to make full use of all tacks. This weapon is very useful in taking out heavy groups of balloons, especially when you upgrade it with faster shooter and extra range options.

There are a maximum of 2 upgrades for each tower which makes the game pretty limited, especially in comparison to the 2nd and 3rd games in the series. It means you soon run out of variety and something to look forward to later on once you have stacked up enough points.

The game play of Bloons tower defense is as good as it can be. It's easy to deploy your towers wherever you like, there's no real difficulty in picking up the controls as it's a simple point and click game. With the game being so simple there is no risk of any freezing or slowing of play whatsoever.

Considering there were many flash tower defense games out before Ninjakiwi even contemplated releasing their own, such as the desktop tower defense game, there was little effort put into this one. It lacks any variety in what you would term 'baddies' or balloons in this case. Even though they pretty much stuck with the balloon concept for the series, more imagination could have been placed on the kind of balloons being used, for example some could have had a mind of their own or been a bit more gruesome looking rather than plain old party balloons...

After the first 10 rounds the game becomes a lot more difficult, with balloons moving rapidly across the circuit, so a wise choice in tower deployment is vital. The idea here is to see if you can survive some of the more difficult rounds whilst resisting the temptation to add additional weaker towers. Somewhere along the line you will have to hold out for longer in order to be able to afford a stronger form of defense such as the ice tower in order to make surviving the later rounds realistic.

Both the ice and bomb tower offer nothing special in terms of visual appearance, effects and creativity. They are both fairly bog standard and won't provide any temptation for you to play on beyond this point with only the Super Monkey being left to deploy. By the time you can afford Super Monkey you will be most likely fed up of the game and will have exited out.

Game Verdict

The first tower defense game fails to live up to the original Bloons series in my opinion and lacks the imagination to bridge the gap over many boring levels of the same old balloon popping defense strategies. My advice would be to quickly move on to the 2nd and 3rd game in the series.

Bloons Tower Defense 4 is a delight for gamers! Perhaps, it's one of the most addictive games, I have ever come across. Bloons Tower Defense 4 has everything more of what we really love in a flash game. It's larger, better and more entertaining on all accounts in comparison to its predecessors.

I must admit that the graphics are really fascinating, and the concept of the game is intriguing enough to keep one engaged for all the six tracks. Unlike other flash games out there, I found the music very entertaining and pleasant on the ears.

As such, the concept of the game is very lucid. It's an improved version of the tower defense game, where in you build structures to avoid the enemy balloons from crossing the map. Balloons are the deceptively cute enemies over here, whereas monkeys are the towers. So the goal is to prevent the balloons from reaching the end of the map. You lose the game, if 100 balloons pass through the map.

Several new towers have been added in this improved version to provide an interesting flair to the game. You will have to place the towers in the path of the balloons to combat them. You have the option to upgrade the towers (monkeys) to improve their performance.

For instance, a dart monkey fails to cover a wide area, and they only pop one balloon at a time. An upgrade to boomerang monkey, super monkey and so on will allow you to cover more area and pop more balloons at a time.

Overall, the game has six tracks and you are allowed to choose the track of your choice once you commence the game. The strength of the balloon depends upon its color. For instance, red balloons are very slow and will require only 1 hit from you, whereas blue balloons will require 2 hits and so on.

The earlier phase of the game will appear very slow, and you will witness only few balloons trying to get past the map. However, as you advance further in the game, you will find the balloons rushing at you. Unless, you are fully attentive, you won't be able to match the speed or adjust your reactions to these fast passing balloons.

Water and air defenses are pretty cool additions made to this game. At the stages, the game may appear almost impossible to complete. That's when the game becomes irresistible and more entertaining to play!

The world of gaming has improved a whole lot over the years. No longer would gamers have to settle on playing with their gaming consoles, they can now experience gaming online with more amazing 3D designs, realistic visual and audio effects and a great storyline that would definitely entice you to log online and play a game or two.

If there is one thing that can get gamers at the edge of their seats- it's the action! Online games are phenomenally entertaining because of the challenges and strategy the games can give you. One of the more popular game genres that you can find online are tower defense games.

Tower defense games have a basic concept to it. The primary objective of the game is to prevent your enemies from going near your camp and destroying your towers. The enemies, or protagonists of the game, are also referred to as creeps. The basic good and evil, villain and hero plot is the basic storyline of tower defense games.

Most tower defense games are played on a certain map where the player has a designated place where he can build towers or create his own community. The other parts of the map are designated with creeps that can take over the player's 'towers' and destroy the elements of the 'kingdom' or 'community' the player built.

Both the player and his enemies have a number of abilities and resources to help them build their towers. They also have equipments that they can use to destroy their opponent's towers. All of these have their corresponding costs. When a player defeated creeps, he would earn points that can be used to upgrade and buy more towers.

The main goal of a tower defense game is to protect your towers against the enemies and bring the creeps down by destroying their towers. In the end, the party with protected towers and destroyed the towers of the enemy is hailed as winner of the game.

Tower defense games are very fun to play because it does not only require clicking of the mouse like other casual gaming requires. It takes critical thinking, comprehension, strategic analysis and not to mention, speed of hands, to be able to protect your towers from the enemy.

The challenge here is to position your towers and protect it at all costs while destroying the towers of your enemies. Popular tower defense games are StarCraft and Age of Empires, among other online games.

Tower defense games created a revolution in online gaming. You might get used to the graphics and game play of Tetris, which is one of the oldest online games, but with tower defense games, you would be surprised on how real-to-life the graphics are and the visual and audio effects are just phenomenal. This is one of the reasons why most people got themselves addicted to this game.

Flash environment is a great platform for tower defense games. Aside from flash, other game developers also integrated high-end graphic elements such as 3D animation that can add to the market value of these games.

Tower defense refers to a class of computer games based on real-time strategy. The objective is to stop the enemy from crossing over the map by way of building towers. The enemies as well as towers generally have varied costs and abilities. When the enemy gets defeated, points or money is earned by the player, which can be used by him or her for buying or upgrading towers.

The positioning and choice of a tower is of great strategic importance in the game. Several games feature enemies who have to run across a maze. This enables a player to place the towers strategically for optimal results. However, in some versions, the user is forced to create a maze with the help of their towers. There are also some games, which are hybrid of both such games, i.e. they have features of both these types of games.

These games were introduced in the year 1990, with the release of Rampart by Atari Games. With the release of Final Fantasy VII Fort Condor mini-game in the year 1997 such tower games became a huge hit. With the rise in popularity these developers started making use of Adobe Flash for making tower defense games. This lead to the release of several other tower games, such as the Desk Top Tower Defense, which became a huge hit and even won a Games Festival award. Protector, Immortal Defense, GemCraft, and Plants vs. Zombies are a few other popular games in this category. The ever-growing success of this genre compelled developers to design such games for video gaming consoles like Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Tower games are typified by the position of the static units for defending against the enemy units trying to reach a finishing point. There is predefined number of units who are allowed to reach the finishing point. Some tower games make use of a stationary route which is followed by the enemies and around which a player positions his or her towers. Some other games however, allow a user to predefine a path which the enemies take. You can also find games which have a mix of both. In most games, the players are allowed to upgrade their towers.

If you are searching for such games, then there are a number of options that you can think of. As it is, there are several websites on the internet, from where you can download these games. A simple search on the internet would provide you a list of such websites. While many of these websites offer free download, some of them may charge a fee, especially for the advanced versions.

How long would it take me to walk from Wembley Stadium to Tower Bridge?

We're at a sporting event and the queue is always really long for the tube. Would it be easier walking and what should we look for along the way so we don't get lost. Street names and landmarks would be great. Points for the most detail.

The distance is from 10 to 12 miles depending upon route and it should take at least 3 hours and 42 minutes.

Mobile Tower Crane

A mobile tower crane could be the answer to every construction site's lifting requirements.  Unlike static tower cranes, which need to be build onsite (a time-consuming and often dangerous process), a mobile tower crane is driven in fully assembled and can be ready to start lifting in less than an hour.  The mobile tower crane combines the adaptability and efficiency of a telescopic crane (the "usual" type of mobile crane, with telescopically extendable boom arms) with the reach of a normal tower crane effectively allowing constructors to install tower cranes in sites where they were previously impossible.

A mobile tower crane arrives on a multi-axle vehicle equipped with heavy duty stabilisers.  The crane is articulated rather than telescopic, unfolding in stages to produce a standing lifter with much the same shape and range of movement as a static tower crane.  The mobile tower crane can be manoeuvred into an exact position, which allows contractors working on public sites (i.e. sites that aren't closed off to vehicular access) to import and use heavy lifting equipment with minimum disruption to roads and traffic.

The lifting power of a mobile tower crane is really no different to static tower cranes of comparable size.  Heavy duty mobile tower cranes can be used in all large projects, from decommissions or shutdowns to new buildings.

A mobile tower crane saves money for its operator on two fronts.  First, constructors are no longer bound by expensive set-up costs.  Building a conventional tower crane is costed in time and money – it takes a day to put one together, which means money is lost through site shutdown; and you have to pay someone to do it.  Installing a mobile tower crane is as easy as driving the vehicle up to the desired location and activating its stabilisers.

The other cost of using a conventional tower crane, as opposed to a mobile tower crane, is long-term hire charges.  Because normal tower cranes take so long to build, they tend to stay in place for the duration of a project, in use or no, to prevent paying for having another one built should the project require its uses at a later date.  Static tower cranes staying in situ for the duration cost daily money.  A mobile tower crane costs less to put in and is only hired for the amount of time it stays on site.

Having a mobile tower crane, which can be moved from area to area and only drafted onto site when it is going to be used, also means that space is freed for other vehicles and construction processes.  The net result of space saved for other uses is always increased productivity, which translates into faster completion.  Over years of use, a mobile tower crane starts to show an unexpected benefit.  Not only does a mobile crane save short-term money, and perform problem-free lifts without sacrificing space or efficiency:  it also shortens project time by appreciable degrees.  Which means, in the long run, a mobile tower crane actually allows construction companies to complete more projects per given amount of time, than had they not been using them.
