Mug Shots – Know More About Prison Head Shots

Mug shots have different terms or names. One of these is head shots. On the other hand, the more proper term for this is booking photograph. This is a portrait taken after an individual is arrested. The concept of a head shot or mug shot was developed by a nineteenth-century United States detective, Allan Pinkerton. Almost all mug shots consist of two poses. The first pose is upfront, while the other is side view. Pinkerton had a detective agency, which was the first organization to make use of "Wanted" posters and pictures during the days of the Wild West. The Evolution of Mug Shots Before the conception of computers and other technological gadgets, the arrested individual was told to carry a card when his or her mug shot was taken. This card contains the name, date, police station, and other data that is connected with the arrest and the person. During the recent years, mug shots are captured through digital photography. The arrested person does not bring an identification card anymore, while the shot is being captured. Instead, the digital photo is linked to an online database that also holds records regarding the arrest of the individual. The Purpose of Mug Shots The main reason why law enforcers take mug shots of arrested individuals is to enable the latter to keep photographic records of the former. These photographs are shown to investigators and victims for easier identification of the person who has offended them. Mug shots are not only used within agencies of law enforcement. These are used for publication under certain conditions known as "fair use" doctrines. The publication of the photos may be placed online, in television, or in newspapers. However, the copyright of the photos is owned by the jurisdiction responsible for acquiring the mug shots. A prison head shot within United States law enforcement offices may be acquired by the public by means of Freedom of Information Act. But this free access is not applicable for criminal records that have been sealed. General Facts about Mug Shots Prison head shots are called mug shots taken from different languages. It is obtained from the term "mug," which is an English colloquial word for "face." The use of this term dates back to the eighteenth century. On the other hand, the term "mug shot" is also taken from the word "mug" that refers to the usual grimace of arrested individuals. This is because early prisoners attempt to lessen the value or identity of their mug shot through twisting the muscles of their faces or by grimacing. Later on, this term was used for acting wherein "mugging" refers to "overacting" or "emoting." Mug shots are not only used in prison and law enforcement offices. During the present times, these shots refer to small photos that capture only the face. Most of the individuals, who request for mug shots usually work within the field of media. They use the photos to support their articles or news regarding the publication of the individual's arrest or court proceedings.

What is the lowest shot total for one team in a game, in the hisrtory of the NHL?

The other day, Washington could only muster 10 shots on net, and i was wondering how close to a record that was. Sometimes players have more shots than that in one game. I would also like to know who shot the most in one game.

Like Habitant said, the Leafs had a 6 shot performance against the Devils in the 2000 playoffs, but there is usually a distinction between regular season and playoffs. I'm not sure that there was ever a 6 shot game in the regular season though, however still possible there was. If not it the record would belong to the Capitals. Their franchise low is 7 shots which they had in Feb. 1978. As for the most shots in a game by a player, I can't find that for sure either, but Phil Esposito has the season record with 550 in 1970-71, 121 shots higher than next highest total. He played 78 games that year, so he averaged over 7 per game, so I'm sure he must have had a few double digit shot games.

One Last Shot gives Jordan fans the inside scoop they're looking for on basketball's greatest legend with exclusive interviews from NBA executives players and coaches. Mitchell Krugel uses his fifteen years of following Michael Jordan's every move to explain why the man who left the game as The Greatest Player of All Time would risk his unparalleled legend to play again. After delivering the Chicago Bulls their sixth championship in 1998 by pulling off what became known as the greatest money shot in the history of the NBA Michael believed he still had much of that Greatest-Player-Of-All-Time left in his game. But he felt that retirement was forced on him in 1999 and he left the game craving more doses of fifty-point binges winner-take-all confrontations and repeated nights of reminding fans they just saw the greatest player ever. One Last Shot not only explains why Michael Jordan came back to the court but also looks at his transition from Wizards executive to player his struggle to join a team that had grown up with his posters on their walls and his glories and setbacks in a Wizards season chock full of both struggles and surprises. Krugel also details the star-laden workouts Michael designed in the summer of 2001 to get his game back into shape. This look at Michael Jordan circa 2001-2002 shows how much basketball had changed since his last coming and how much it hadn't and how his drive pushed him to the verge of a crippling knee injury all in the pursuit of winning. And for six weeks he did make it back. He made the shots. He made good on his mission to teach the Wizards how to be winners to teach talented teammate Richard Hamilton to be a shooting star and to whip Kwame Brown the high school kid he made the first-ever first pick in the NBA draft into a man. And he did the things that only a man of legend could do. Krugel analyzes both the man and the legend to trace how the First Coming led to a Second and to a Third and he chronicles the season that defines Michael Jordan as a man who will forever be playing for one last shot.
