How and why did Jean/the Phoenix kill Scott (Cyclops) in the movie X-men 3?
I don't get it. How and why did the Phoenix kill him? Did she need him for pyschic energy or something?
The Phoenix is in fact a whole life-force of it's own. It just inhabited Jean's body for a while. For those who read the comic back in the day it was explained but in the movies they kind of rushed through a lot of it to make it all fit in the matter of a couple of hours, when it took a couple of years of comics to lead up to the incident. As for killing Scott, the movie producers like to change things and he was killed because Phoenix didn't know him and probably felt threatened by him.
