Does Venom in Spiderman 3 look similar to the comic book?
Personally I hate the Spiderman movies because they ruined everything from changing the fact that MJ is supposed to be a voluptous bombshell, to getting rid of his web shooters, getting rid of his cocky attitude, and changing all the bad guys costumes for the worse. Not to metion they chose the original Spiderman costume for the movie which in retrospect was not as nice as the redesigned one that Todd Mcfarlane drew that Spawn was designed from.
Though the Spider-Man 3 Venom was not as tall or muscular as the comic book version, the costume looked good and close to the way Venom did in Amazing Spider-Man #300 that Venom first appeared in (he was shown briefly a couple issues before that, but now where you could fully see him). If they wanted to add the white spider symbol, they easily could have had it on Spider-Man's "black costume" by making the symbiote turn the costume all black except for the white spider symbol.
One of the things they changed from comic book to movie was the ability of the symbiote to mimic street clothes. After that, the symbiote would just repeat the same design when bonding with Eddie Brock to create Venom.

Exquisite attention to detail is the most defining feature in a McFarlane Toy. However, it is almost always at the expense of articulation, making them more akin to semiposeable statues than action figures. Still, the line proves popular especially among young adults, and is arguably the most commercially successful toy line at the moment. It has also influenced many other toy lines to try and imitate McFarlane Toys style.
