Robin::
The youngest in a family of acrobats known as the "Flying Graysons", Dick watches his parents killed by a mafia boss to extort money from the circus that employs them. Bruce Wayne, secretly Batman, takes him in as his legal ward.
Throughout Dick's adolescence, Batman and Robin are inseparable, but, as Dick grows older and spends more time as the leader of the Teen Titans, he takes on the identity of Nightwing to assert his independence (other teenaged heroes will later fill in the role of Robin)
Kid Flash::
When West was about 10 years old, he was visiting his uncle's police laboratory, and the freak accident that gave Allen his powers repeated itself, bathing West in electrically-charged chemicals. Now possessing the same powers as his uncle, West donned a copy of his uncle's outfit and became the young crimefighter Kid Flash.
He soon adopted a slightly different, yellow-and-red outfit with his hair exposed, and became a founding member of the Teen Titans, along with fellow sidekicks Robin and Aqualad. Always something of a straight-shooter from rural America, Kid Flash sometimes felt out of place alongside more flamboyant heroes such as Speedy and Wonder Girl.
Aquald::
Tempest's real name is Garth, and his origin is similar to that of his mentor, Aquaman: he is an amphibious humanoid who was left to die but survived to become a hero. His father King Thar and mother Queen Berra ruled a small independendent Atlantean colony whose people called themselves the Idylists. King Thar later lost his mind due to an unspecified disease, and his increasingly erratic and sometimes violent actions began to terrify his subjects, so they turned to Berra for guidance she could not give. His subjects eventually revolted against Thar and killed him, banishing Berra from the city. Queen Berra fled to Poseidonis and gave birth to a baby boy she named Garth. The people of Poseidonis drove both mother and infant from their city due to an irrational superstitious fear of his purple eyes.
Garth was one of the founding members of the Teen Titans, and has been a member of that team in many of its incarnations although later as a reservist since he began to feel he was of little help out of the water. His girlfriend for many years was Aquagirl, until her death during the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Wonder Girl::
As Wonder Girl, she was one of the founding members of the Titans. Over the years, her origin story has been changed several times and she has fought crime under various different identities. However, in recent comics, her ability to remember all different versions of herself has been shown to define her as a living link to the destroyed DC Multiverse. She is also the current Wonder Woman, having taken up the mantle during the absence of her sister Diana.
It was revealed, four years after her introduction, that Wonder Girl had been orphaned by a fire which killed her parents. Saved by Wonder Woman, she had been taken to Paradise Island, where she was given Amazon powers by the mysterious Purple Ray. She later took the alias of Donna Troy and remained on Earth (it is interesting to note that, before she made the decision to take the name "Donna Troy" after becoming a member of the Teen Titans, she apparently had no name other than "Wonder Girl"). These revelations were published in Teen Titans (1st series) #22 (July-August 1969).
Speedy::
Roy Harper, Sr. was a forest ranger who rescued a Navajo medicine chief from a massive forest fire. He then went back to the fire to look for more victims. He was never seen again. Young Roy was barely two years old at the time, and Brave Bow, the man that Roy's father had rescued, raised the boy on a Navajo reservation.
Roy grew up with few friends. With the help of Brave Bow, he developed himself physically and learned how to use a bow and arrow, reaching the level of someone twice his age in physical prowess and archery skill.
Later on, when Brave Bow was on his deathbed, he realized that Roy would need another guardian. Knowing that the child idolized Green Arrow, he conspired with the hero to send Roy to an archery contest that Green Arrow was judging. Even though Roy lost the contest, he helped Green Arrow foil a burglary, and even proved a faster shot than him.
