I agree with both previous answers that anything that old will have little value BUT several dell LATITUDE and OPTIPLEX models, had defective motherboards and dell offeres FREE upgrades, including installation.

Call dell and find if yours is included. You will FIRST need proof of legal ownership including correct transfer of ownership if it was purchased USED. Don't bug dell if it is, it is your PREVIOUS OWNERS to do a change of ownership and YOUR responsbility to keep track, NOT dell'. It would be a breach of privacy and against the law for them to tell you who the previous owner was. Again it is the PREVIOUS OWNERS responsibility. But once you provide that it is nice to get a freebee. They upgraded one of my laptops a while back. I am pleased with their honesty. You wont find acer doing that.

Mike may be correct that it may be better to just use the case, power supply, vid card and HD and replace mobo, proc and ramm or even just buy a while new computer because by the time you replaced all that, you can buy a new machine.
