Gameplay
General
To meet the different missions that raise the game, you can make use of direct action, with several multi-hit combos using the devices themselves or the Batman. But you can also use stealth to go unnoticed when on stage are a lot of enemies. In addition, you can buy gadgets or improve other non-compulsory and armor, and can purchase new combos of punches, all with experience points that are obtained as you complete various objectives.
You can also play the challenge mode with the Joker with almost all functions of Batman, which is exclusive to the PS3.
Gadgets
Batman has a wide variety of gadgets that are unlocked as you progress through the game or buying. These gadgets are:
* Batarang: The first game gadget required. It is an object shaped like bat throwing objects to break, cut ropes, or disable enemies for a while. The amount of batarangs is unlimited * Gel Explosive: It is a weapon which ejects a gel that exploits the detonation. Is used to break weak walls or knock out enemies. It is mandatory to have it and have a limited amount of gel of 3 sprays, But is regenerated automatically detonated that amount.
* Batgarra: Used as a harpoon to get to reach very high surface to bring items such as boxes and ventilation grilles, and shoot enemies on the ground. Its collection is mandatory. o Ultra-Batgarra: The batgarra improved, which now serves the above purposes and to break down weak walls and ceilings with gel explosive inaccessible. In addition, having three harpoons, can throw down three enemies at once.
* Cryptographic sequencer: May hack security systems through ultrasound. Its collection is mandatory.
* Lanza CabosThis gadget shoots two ropes in opposite ways, forming a horizontal line where Batman can glide to reach very remote areas.
* Multi-Batarang: Gadget affordable. Several batarangs (maximum three) that can be launched at the same time to knock out multiple enemies at once. It can be reused again after a brief period of recharging.
* Batarang with remote control: It is an affordable gadget that basically is a Batarang, But its direction can be controlled by the player, as if the character was the Batarang. It can be used again after a recharge.
* Sonic Batarang: It is an affordable gadget. Its design is circular, with two edges, one on each side. You can launch, and it will be stuck where you have led, from which emit a sound that attracts the enemy, which will set traps and, if Batarang has been improved, it may trigger disabling the enemy. It can be used again after a recharge.
* Detective Mode: Not a gadget. This is a special view with which you can spot enemies and important things, and genetic samples. It helps, and is from the beginning of juego.Es interesting that resembles the eagle eye of the Assassin's Creed franchise
The Joker has also gadgets that mimic various capacities of Batman:
* Gun: The gun used to kill enemies, and creates a great sound that attracts enemies instead of shooting survivors. Just one bullet.
* Teeth: Mobile teeth are remote controls that can be detonated by creating a huge explosion. You only get one of these.
* Glasses: Psychedelic glasses that mimic Detective Mode.
Piracy
To combat piracy included "errors" in the gameplay. There are situations where the game fails making them insoluble if the game is not original. For example, there is a situation in which to spend a room full of poisonous gas should plan Batman: in pirated versions of the game, the layer does not open and Batman dies each time. This obstacle has already been avoided and the illegal version of this game and does not contain these errors.
Graphics
The game uses the Unreal Engine 3, which is the same engine used by games like Gears of War and Bioshock, Thus offering very high-level graphics ever seen in a game about superheroes.
Sequel
At the beginning of Spike Video Game Awards 2009 announced a continuation of this game. A trailer of this upcoming game has been made, which shows the Joker laugh, but ill and being cared for by Harley Quinn, As it unfolds the chaos in Gotham.
Curiosities
* The game's story was written by Paul DiniFamous comic book writer of the bat, and before one of the great architects of the success of the acclaimed Batman: the Animated Series.
* In the game, both in English and Spanish, featuring some of the voice actors from recent films Christopher NolanStressing the Batman.
* Each time we enter the visiting room will see a mannequin dressed as the Joker holding a television as a head, in which the Joker will speak in different sagas of comics or important characters Batman universe, so it is interesting approach there at different times of the game. For example, after defeating Bane, to mention the events of "The Fall of the bat" after defeating Harley Quinn, Robin is mentioned and the death of Jason Todd ("A Death in the Family") and once we had the first encounter with the Scarecrow, the Joker will start the joke that was the end of The Killing Joke.
* The syringe needle is the scarecrow in the right hand glove to remind the gardener Freddy Krueger, Besides that both use fear as a weapon.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Review
Batman: Arkham Asylum can only be reviewed in a positive light. Am I late to the party? Yes, but I rarely buy games new in the interest of cheap fun. This is one of those rare cases where I wouldn't have minded paying full retail. If you're looking for a truly unique and rewarding gaming experience on the cheap, go pick up a copy used from Amazon.com.
You don't even need to be a Batman fan to appreciate this game. There are elements of stealth that you must use in certain situations. Likewise, there is a very satisfying experience for those who enjoy the button mashing fighting game genre. There are plenty of opportunities to test your reflexes, as multiple enemies will attack you at once during the course of the game.
But, being the alter ego of the multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne, you have the latest and greatest gadgets at your disposal to aid your fight. The sheer number of really useful (not to mention cool and fun to use) gadgets outdoes most of the James Bond 007 games, and that is not an easy task. Also available is a cowl that incorporates a "Detective Mode" that allows you to see how many enemies remain, their heat signatures even through walls, and solve mysteries.
And you will do your fair share of solving riddles left by The Riddler. But solving these riddles and mysteries is a good thing, although several are quite difficult. Once you solve them you earn, among other things, upgrades for your gadgets as well as new gadgets.
One of these upgrades gives you a weapon that sprays an explosive gel that you can use to collapse walls onto enemies or blow them over railings. This type of upgrade system keeps the game fresh as there are multiple ways to progress and combinations of gadgets to use to advance the story.
But the beautifully animated cutscenes, combined with the voice talent of Mark Hamill as The Joker, make advancing the story that much more enjoyable.
Replay value is high for this game, as extra boards and challenges can be downloaded (watch for the Joker skin to download and use in challenge mode, on PS3 only). The compelling story is fun to play multiple times, perhaps while advancing through the difficulty levels.
The real icing on the cake is the villains who make appearances throughout. You might want to play the Killer Croc level with the lights on. The only real disappointment with this game is the lack of a playable Batmobile level, as most of the story takes place on, in and under the grounds of Arkham Asylum. If you would like to have a lot of fun and a terrific way of blowing off some steam, without costing a lot of money, consider getting a used copy (with caution) of Batman: Arkham Asylum.
